An organizational meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Sherburne was held on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Town Offices, One Canal Street, Sherburne, NY. Present: Supervisor Mastro, Councilpersons, Meyer, Krum, Wern and Bagnall, Town Clerk McDaniel.
Motion by Meyer and seconded Wern by to conduct the 2013 Town Board meetings on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the Town offices, One Canal Street, Sherburne. Supervisor Mastro Aye; Councilpersons Meyer – Aye; Wern – Aye; Krum – Aye; Bagnall – Aye. Carried.
Motion by Wern and seconded by Krum to approve the county mileage rate for 2013 at the Town mileage rate for 2013. That rate is 56.5 cents per mile. Supervisor Mastro – Aye; Councilpersons, Wern – Aye; Krum – Aye; Meyer – Aye; Bagnall – Aye. Carried.
Motion by Meyer and seconded by Bagnall that an audit of the Supervisor’s books and the Town Clerk’s books was conducted and as far as can be ascertained are correct. Supervisor Mastro – Abstain; Councilpersons Krum – Aye; Wern – Aye; Meyer – Aye; Bagnall – Aye. Carried.
Motion by Krum and seconded by Meyer to appoint Brian Guldy to the Planning Board for a seven (7) year term. Term to expire: December 31, 2019. Supervisor Mastro – Aye; Councilpersons Krum – Aye; Meyer – Aye; Wern – Aye; Bagnall – Aye. Carried.
Discussion held on Watershed property. Supervisor Mastro reported that Sean Karnes would like to bring timber out and come over Town land to bring timber out. An agreement to be written up for this purpose. Town Board discussed getting a certificate of insurance covering the town.
The first regular meeting of the Town Board of the Town of Sherburne was held on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at 7:00 pm at the Town Offices, One Canal Street, Sherburne, NY. Present: Supervisor Mastro, Councilpersons, Meyer, Krum, Wern and Bagnall, Town Clerk McDaniel. Absent: Hwy Superintendent Bob Brunschmid, Code Enforcement Officer Dan Andrews.
Time Warner. Received a check from Time Warner for underpaid franchise fees in the amount of $2,466.57. 50% of this amount will be paid to Computel for their fee. Nothing has been received from Time Warner with regards to a contract.
Narrowband Radios. Supervisor Mastro talked with Doreen Rowe, the Assistant Supt for BOCES. She had a meeting with Gayle Hellert, School Superintendent and JPF Electronics and they all agreed that an agreement was not necessary to enter into for the tower use. Supervisor Mastro has reported this to Bob Brunschmid.
Road Use Agreement. Supervisor Mastro reported that the town received a contract from Delta Engineer with regards to the meeting held last month. Delta dropped their fee from $10,000 per year to $7,900 per year, but it only covers 20 miles of town roads. Supervisor Mastro is going to talk to attorney Steve Jones and have him attend a Town Board meeting to go over the Road Use law.
Budget Transfers. Motion by Bagnall and seconded Wern by to accept the transfers proposed by Budget Officer Carol King. Supervisor Mastro – Aye; Councilpersons Meyer – Aye, Krum – Aye; Wern – Aye; Bagnall – Aye. Carried.
Baillie Lumber coming through the Watershed Property– Supervisor Mastro talked to attorney Steve Jones. An agreement between Baillie Lumber and the Town has been drawn. The Town is covered under the insurance and we will be received a certificate of liability. Motion by Meyer and seconded by Wern to allow Supervisor Mastro to sign agreement. Thomas Matteson Painting. A Thomas Matteson painting has been donated to the Historic Park. The painting is one of his more famous ones of the civil war era. It is now being stored at the library. The library has a security system. An agreement has been written up stating that the painting belongs to the Town Historic Park. Discussion held on insuring and cleaning of the painting.
